Indian wooden and metal-bound chest with wheels, 19th century

19th-century Indian chest, made of native hardwood and metal-bound, on wheels. Sometimes referred to as dowry chest or merchant's chest. Arched cover and iron side handles for carrying, working wooden wheels. Presence of a foundation. Front of the chest with two small drawers that give into the bottom and which in turn have other secret compartments, accessed by pulling a nail that is hidden and acts as a knob. Also in the bottom of the trunk are three other openings, these too are not visible and give into the underfloor, accessed by pulling a nail which acts as a knob. Each opening, in turn, has as many secret compartments, which can always be opened by pulling a nail for a knob, but this time also by operating another manual device consisting of a small iron wedge. Great solutions for concealing various objects. In need of restoration.
