A distinctive and original round French tea/coffee table made of wood painted black. It has the aesthetic feature that the upper top is smaller than the lower one; both are set on specially created slots at different heights on the four legs. The entire structure is exceptionally compact, solid and stable. The soft, curved design of the legs is truly innovative and eccentric. The coffee table was created by a master craftsman between 1930 and 1935 in a specialised and professional carpentry workshop in the Townes of Pont-de-Beauvoisin, a French commune in the Isère département, nicknamed the 'City of Furniture' for its ancient tradition of woodworking. The craftsmen were inspired by the desire to create a small object with soft, simple lines and gave the coffee table a timeless elegance. Its design plays between austerity and rigour, and its exaggerated simplicity gives the object a dynamic and majestic character. Our coffee table is a precious and original piece of furniture; it is a perfect and typical example of Art Decor. With its refined, elegant, curved structure, it is able to communicate suggestions of yesteryear, tradition and functionality, and with its personal and unrepeatable charm it is a discreet and innovative piece of furniture suitable for any type of furnishing. The object has been hand-restored by our team of craftsmen and is in perfect condition. Diameter 55 cm, height 55 cm.
