Item description

Finely inlaid wood (probably rosewood) sculpture depicting a pair of Fo dogs, late 19th century (circa 1880). The dogs, mother and puppy respectively, are depicted in a moment of playing with a ball. The defects, visible from the photos, are the absence of one of the mother's glass eyes and lower row of teeth and the absence of both eyes and the upper and lower rows of the puppy's teeth.
