Item description
Mid-century Danish teak daybed, probably produced by Horsens Møbelfabrik in the 1960s. It expresses the essence of mid-century design: correct proportions and functionality. Its advantage is the removable backrest, which offers the opportunity to adapt the design to the interior and a hidden compartment for blankets, sheets and pillows in the backrest. The frame is solid wood, stained teak (often found in Horsens daybeds), while the upholstery is new black leather. It is closely reminiscent of designs by Hans Wegner or Orla Molgaard from the same period. The daybed is in fantastic condition after a complete restoration. It features excellent craftsmanship in appropriately selected and coordinated teak wood throughout, with brass armrests and feet. The mattress rests on horizontal springs that run through the bed frame. The wood has been treated with layers of Danish oil and all springs have been checked. Additional dimensions: backrest H: 38 cm/W: 190 cm/D:23 cm, mattress H: 37 cm, height from floor: H: 23 cm.
