Item description

Elegant Danish teak executive desk model EP401 designed in the 1960s by Kai Kristiansen for Feldballe's Møbelfabrik. This free-standing desk features a teak top, six drawers on the front and three storage cabinets/open spaces on the back. The aesthetic essence of this desk lies in its minimalist form and the vibrant contrast between the warm colour of the wood and the cool silver handles. Aluminium was a rather rare material for Danish organic design in the 1950s and 1970s. The desk is more reminiscent of French and Italian designs of the same period. It was made of oak, teak and rosewood. It is debated whether it was actually designed by Kai Kristiansen or whether it simply came from the Feldballe manufacture. Regardless of the outcome, it is nevertheless an extremely interesting piece of mid-century Danish design. Overall, the desk is in excellent vintage condition. It has been finished with teak oil. The aluminium parts have been cleaned. We have left small, natural signs of use that do not spoil the aesthetics and only confirm the originality. Customers from all over the world have already trusted our work and its fruits. If you are new to vintage furniture, please contact us for explanations and close-ups of the piece. Additional dimensions: six drawers (three on each side) H: 8 cm; space for chair: W: 60 cm/ H: 70 cm / D: 51 cm; three dividers at the back H: 22 cm; height from floor: H: 27 cm.
