A gold-patinated plaster bust of Giulio Cesar from a plaster cast gallery of a Sicilian fine arts academy. Plasters were patinated in different ways, this was done with gold, amber and brown for a surprising result also given the time, they were probably used for theater sets. Plaster was a common material for sculpture, known for its versatility and ability to capture the finest details; the use of gold patina involves applying a thin layer of gold-colored finish to the surface of the sculpture.
