Item description
When one thinks of mid-century chrome-plated revolutions, it is hard not to recall Goffredo Reggiani, the obscure but famous Italian entrepreneur and light designer. All characterised by the use of futuristic lines, high quality materials and fine craftsmanship, his lamps are instantly recognisable; and although many of them have come to the present day without a label, it is quite easy to attribute a piece of lighting to the designer's genius. The lamp we offer for sale is indeed one of those 'anonymous' ones, but we are sure that no one will object if we attribute it to the Brianza-based manufacturer. It has all the characteristics to be considered a Reggiani work, including three spherical 'Sputnik' style lampshades, magnets to hold, tilt and orient each luminaire, a high quality chrome finish that shows only a few signs of the years despite its age, and an overall futuristic appearance typical of Reggiani luminaires. The condition is absolutely excellent: it was only recently rewired to replace the worn original wires. It is now fully functional, as are the three bulbs, with E27 socket and chrome coating on the upper half of the glass. There is no damage and no visible signs of use, apart from the predictable patina of a 50-year-old chrome lamp.
