Pair of armchairs with wooden legs and yellow fur upholstery, 1950s

For sale is a pair of Italian-made reading armchairs from the early 1950s. They are particularly attractive due to their sloping wooden legs with cantilevered armrests. The armchairs seem to have been designed in the style of Augusto Romano, a furniture designer of the time who designed several pieces of furniture - mainly chairs, armchairs and tables - with sinuous and elegant wooden frames. The present armchairs are preserved in excellent condition, with the wooden frame showing only minimal signs of time and a uniform and pleasant patina, entirely to be expected on such old pieces. They have been partially restored, as the upholstery has been reupholstered in an eclectic yellow ochre velvet that is virtually unused. Thanks to the new flamboyant fabric, they have a nice presence and will add an original touch to any period or contemporary interior.
