Anselmo Giardini was born in Riccione in 1952, he attended the Art Institute of Pesaro and the Academy of Fine Arts in Rome under the guidance of Emilio Greco. Since 1977 he has been working in his artisan workshop in Riccione. The proposed sculpture represents Gea, the first goddess of the Greek (and then Roman) world: she is the symbol of the importance of the earth in ancient agricultural civilizations but also of the role of women in procreating and raising her children. The sculpture is in terracotta, made up of five pieces. It has some small chips and repairs.
