Iconic and large ceiling light with hexagonal steel structure with elements in gray and white satin glass. The massive grey elements are trapezoidal and have been ground and bevelled at the edges while the round concave glass in the center has the function of evenly spreading the light. The visible frame is made of steel, while the part that looks at the wall is glazed in white and has a step to keep the entire ceiling away from the wall so that it looks aesthetically lighter and suspended. Inside, easily accessible, is the lamp holder with three housings for bulbs whose wires come out from a hole in the back, also on the back there are two other holes to easily attach the ceiling light to the wall, which can be placed on the ceiling or used on a wall as a wall sconce. The ceiling light was produced between 1970 and 1973 in a workshop in Milan in perfect Fontana Arte style, a company that inspired many producers large and small. The prestigious company Fontana Arte was founded in Milan in 1932 by Luigi Fontana and Gio Ponti and has specialized in the processing of glass and the production of furnishing accessories, a prominent name in Italian design. Our ceiling light as well as a piece of furniture is an example of style. Elegant, rigorous and functional, it creates warm, lunar, shaded and enveloping atmospheres, giving new light to the eyes of the beholder. Measures diameter 33 cm, height 13 cm. The ceiling light is in good condition. The electrical system works but the wiring is European, an electrician should always check the compatibility of the voltage in other states before use.
