Item description
Antique Flemish painting from the first half of the 19th century. Oil-on-canvas work, "in prima tela", depicting the portrait of Rubens with amazing coeval carved and gilded wooden frame. Painting of octagonal shape, nice size and pleasant decor, ideal to put in a salon or study. Finely painted work, excellent quality 19th-century copy of the famous self-portrait by Pieter Paul Rubens (1577-1640). Frame of great quality, structurally solid with a small lack of wooden decoration (curl at lower right, see photo). Work part of a pendant (see photo and ask for block price if available). Canvas that has undergone conservation restoration with three small patches placed on the back (see photo). Painting overall in good state of preservation with some minor signs of time. Size without frame: 73 x 60 cm.
