Item description
Sink from the Tabor series by Antonia Campi for SCI Laveno. Refined sink with neoclassical lines in white ceramic with aquamarine decorations and golden taps. This elegant washbasin was designed in 1960 by designer Antonia Campi and produced by SCI Laveno in 1962. It was taken out of production in 1970 after SCI Società Ceramica Italiana Laveno became Richard Ginori. Antonia Campi attended courses at the Brera Academy of Fine Arts where she was a pupil of Francesco Messina. As soon as she graduated in 1947 she was hired as a factory worker at SCI Laveno where she remained until 1978 holding prestigious positions. In 2011 she was awarded the Compasso D'Oro Career Prize. The Società Ceramica Italiana was founded in 1856 by three former employees of the Milanese company Richard. In 1965 the merger with Richard-Ginori took place, thus becoming Società Ceramica Italiana Richard-Ginori S.p.a., due to the great foreign competition the original factory closed its doors in 1997. The washbasin is in very good condition with no defects, the faucet is functional but has many marks and needs to be polished or replaced.
