Item description
Pair of rare 'balustrade' type lamps made in the 1970s. We believe them to be attributable to Maria Pergay but they bear no mark to guarantee their origin. The sinuous shape inspired by balustrades gives them an elegant style, made of high quality silver-plated metal. They are in good vintage condition, as can be seen in the photos there is slight wear and minor dents consistent with age and use. They have been carefully and lovingly restored to their former glory. The cables on these items may be original, but they are different. The electrical system has an E27 lamp holder and is functional. This lamp model was designed by Maria Pergay in France around the 1960s for the Al-Hada Palace in Riyadh, residence of the Saudi royal family, and produced for several years. They are published in the catalogue Maria Pergay. Complete Works 1957-2010.
