Item description

Pipe chair by Jasper Morrison for Magis. Pipe is an essential chair that stands out for a special technical feature: seat and backrest are fixed to the aluminum tube shell using a special glue that allows us to avoid the use of screws and rivets. It is stackable. Structure in polyester painted aluminum tube; seat and backrest in polyester painted perforated aluminum sheet. Also suitable for outdoors. Seat height: 46 cm. Jasper Morrison, born in London in 1959 and raised in New York in the United States, attended Bryanston School. He graduated in Design from the Kingston Polytechnic Design School in 1982 and obtained two masters in Design: one from the Kingston Polytechnic Design School in 1982, the other from the Royal College of Art in London in 1985. He also studied at the Hochschule der Künste (HdK) in Berlin. Known for thinking outside the box, Morrison is one of the most successful industrial designers of recent decades. Together with his colleague Naoto Fukasawa, he defined the term "super normal", which in his opinion answers the question of what "good design" should be. In his work, he strives to create good examples of sober, useful and responsible design. He has worked for Alessi, Alias, Cappellini (for which he created the Three Sofa De Luxe sofa), Flos, FSB, Magis, Rosenthal, Rowenta, SCP, Furniture, Vitra, Lamy (fountain pens), Schiffini. His drawings are represented in the Museum of Modern Art in New York and in other major museum collections around the world.
