Two-bay hanging oak bookcase by Poul Cadovius for Cado (Denmark), 1960s. It is equipped with a flap cabinet, which can be used as a bar cabinet or desk. It also seems designed for vinyl record enthusiasts: there is in fact a cabinet that offers plenty of space for storing records and the upper part is perfect for a turntable. Additionally, four shelves and a display shelf provide enough space for books, magazines and decorations. The light oak wood structure will warm up any space. The system is entirely modular, allowing you to arrange the elements as needed. All shelves and cabinets can be positioned higher or lower every 5 cm; the configuration shown is therefore just an example. It is a wonderful example of the highest quality of mid-century Danish design, combining elegance, minimalism and functionality with expert craftsmanship. The record cabinet is 42 cm high, 80 cm wide and 38 cm deep; the individual compartments are 10 cm wide. The cabinet with desk/bar compartment is 42 cm high, 80 cm wide and 38 cm deep. Three shelves are 80 cm wide and 22 cm deep; one is 80 cm wide and 38 cm deep. The display shelf is 80 cm wide and 30 cm deep. The three wooden uprights are 202 cm long. Some shelves have the words "Made in Denmark" engraved on them. The bookcase has been carefully checked: it is in excellent vintage condition; all doors and drawers work properly and all parts fit together. The wood has been cleaned with professional compounds and preserved with Danish oil to enhance the beauty of the grain. Small signs of use are left which do not ruin the aesthetics of the furniture and only confirm its originality. Fantastic vintage condition with minor signs of wear.
