Hans Wegner's vintage oak bookcase was produced by RY Mobler in the 1950s, as evidenced by the preserved imprint of the original label. Although Hans Wegner is best known for his chairs, his background as a cabinetmaker reveals his knowledge of how to make high-quality, ergonomic furniture, combining elegance and functionality. As many RY series cabinets were produced in the 1950s and 1960s, one of them, with its drum door top, is absolutely unique and preserved in excellent condition. The bookcase consists of two separate parts. The lower part is a cabinet with six drawers. Three spacious drawers in the lower part, two smaller ones in the upper part and a lockable one in the top right-hand corner with the original key included. The upper cabinet with tambour doors rests on a base without any mounting system. It has four shelves, one of which has an arched cut-out. Two central shelves are adjustable and offer the possibility of changing their height or removing them if necessary. The wood is oak with teak details and round solid wood drawer handles, typical of Wegner's design. Our team thoroughly checked the bookcase. All the interiors are clean and the doors and drawers work smoothly. We cleaned the wood with professional compounds and preserved it. There is a small veneer entrance at the back bottom, but it is professionally done and hardly noticeable. Customers from all over the world have already trusted our work and its fruits.
