Urban Wabi style travertine Medusa stool/coffee table. Past, present and future come together in this sculptural piece; why will you ask? Because Medusa takes shape from a dream the designer made soon after returning to Italy after a decade in Melbourne. A dream of Australian jellyfish ("medusa" in italian) swimming in the waters of his Lake Como. These vivid images were carved from solid marble, a timeless, elegant and sinuous material. Each Medusa stool/coffee table is unique as the shades and veining of the marble change from block to block; it is a very heavy and exceptional design piece but its rounded lines and hypnotic texture allow it to blend effortlessly with the room. It is made of two pieces so it is easier to transport, and elements of different colors can be mixed and matched. The travertine version featured in the listing is immediately available but there are several marbles to choose from.
