Milk Murano glass vase, 1960s
SILVER Seller in Milano, Italy
Sculptural vase in milk ("lattimo") Murano glass, 1960s. Its organic and fluid shape makes it perfect for any contemporary interior and goes well with the latest furniture trend, "Urban Wabi". Milk glass is a particular type of blown glass, made on the island of Murano by the most skilled craftsmen in the world; its italian name, "lattimo", derives from the term "latte" ("milk"), due to the uniform white patina on the transparent glass, which gives it a characteristic milky appearance. The vase, unsigned but of evident quality, is quite large and preserved in wonderful conditions.
