Stylos floor lamp by Achille Castiglioni for Flos, 1980s (designed in 1984). Stylos displays a striking simplicity that is anything but ordinary. A halogen bulb illuminates the column with diffused and reflected light at the base, while an incandescent bulb provides additional diffused light at the top. Each bulb is operated by a separate switch. The semi-transparent, cylindrical column, extruded in PMMA, provides pleasant and soft lighting, while the steel base, finished in silver, has been made heavy to avoid tipping. Stylos perfectly combines functionality and aesthetics, making it a versatile addition to modern interiors. The lamp has a switch on the cord with which it can be turned on and off. Cable length: 285 cm. Column diameter: 17 cm. Base diameter: 35 cm.
