Triangular solid wood and glass coffee table by Gio Ponti, 1950s. Gio Ponti (1891-1979) was an influential Italian architect and designer, among the best known on the Italian and global scene. Having graduated in architecture from the Polytechnic of Milan in 1921, he began his career by collaborating with various architects and engineers, actively participating in exhibitions and founding the magazine Domus. Lui received numerous awards for his work in design and architecture, including the Mussolini Prize in 1934. Ponti left a significant mark on industrial design and architecture, creating emblematic works such as the Pirelli Skyscraper in Milan. His legacy includes a vast archive of drawings and projects, preserved at the Communication Studies and Archive Center in Parma.
