Leather Intervista armchair by Vignelli for Poltrona Frau, 1980s

At the end of the 1980s Lella and Massimo Vignelli were commissioned to design a television for broadcasting news. It would usher in a new approach to news broadcasts: rather than simply "talking heads", people would now be gunned down in full body. The "Intervista" armchair was designed to adapt to this purpose: an evolution of the bucket chair, carefully designed to ensure maximum user comfort and a posture that does not affect their tone of voice. Intervista is an armchair with a load-bearing structure, for the body and seat, in steel covered in molded polyurethane. The seat spring system consists of elastic belts. The upholstery of the Interview armchair is in Pelle Frau® leather.
