Item description
Radiofonograph RR-126 by the Castiglioni brothers for Brionvega, 1960s. Iconic radio with turntable designed in 1964 by Achille and Pier Giacomo Castiglioni, which became a pop must of 1960s design, sought after and appreciated by all collectors and more. Base with wheels in anodized aluminum, lacquered plywood body and perspex turntable cover. Available here in a brown version. There is little to say about this object that has made and continues to make design history, adapting to all eras. This specimen is fully functional in both the radio and the platter, which in this case is a Dual. It has no obvious defects or structural problems, just some slight and normal signs of time on the body. The perspex cover is intact and unbroken. The Brionvega Radiophonograph is exhibited in the permanent collection at the Milan Triennale and MoMA in New York. Brionvega, through its collaboration with the great artists of the time, gave birth to household appliances such as televisions and radios that were avant-garde in their components and design.
