Item description
Armchair by Aldo Morbelli, 1940s. Morbelli (Orsara, 1903 - Turin, 1963) was an Italian architect. He carried out his activity mainly in Turin, he developed, with R. Morozzo della Rocca, the winning project for the reconstruction of the Teatro Regio (1938; carried out, after his death, with a new project by C. Mollino); Rai auditorium (1949, the room in collaboration with C. Mollino); the RAI office building (in collaboration with D. Morelli). Sensitive to the rationalist currents of the period between the two wars, he attempted to merge them with elements of the Italian tradition, especially the Mediterranean one. Seat: 38 cm. The armchair is structurally solid; in need to be restuffed and reupholstered.
