Item description

Antique fresco tear-off painting depicting noblemen on horseback and castle. Attributed to Umberto Giunti (Siena 1886 - 1970), a Sienese forger who trained at the school of Icilio Federico Joni, known as the Falsario in calcinaccio. The painting in question, in fact, finds similarities in style with the frescoed plaster fragments depicting costumed characters, most of which are now in the National Gallery in Dublin. 20th century period. Measures 131 X 74 cm.
