When Gavina learned that Kandinsky had asked that the first example be intended for the living room of his apartment, they decided to produce it under the name Wassily. Marcel Lajos Breuer was a world-renowned modernist architect and designer considered one of the most important proponents of the International Style. This Hungarian-born architect was a product of the famous Bauhaus school of design in Weimar, where he attended the furniture workshop.
