Item description
This elegant and functional mid-century teak dresser, made in Denmark in the 1960s, will enrich any bedroom or living room. It is a rare seven-drawer model, also known as a semainier, popular in 18th-century France (the name comes from the French word for week, semaine), which served the purpose of separating the copious personal linen of the time into supplies from Monday to Sunday. The finely selected teak veneer with a vibrant wood grain, the beautifully carved solid teak handles and the drawer fronts joined with dovetail joints demonstrate the craftsmanship of mid-century Danish craftsmanship. In addition, the solid teak tapered legs enhance its Scandinavian origin and are detachable for more convenient transportation. The dresser is in fantastic condition. The 'Made in Denmark' stamp on the back confirms the authenticity of the origin. The drawers work incredibly smoothly. We have cleaned the wood and the surface has been refreshed with several layers of Danish oil to bring out the wood grain. Height from the floor: 22 cm, height of the drawers: 11 cm.
