Pair of Soriana armchairs by Afra and Tobia Scarpa for Cassina, 1970s. These pieces are a perfect example of high-class Italian design and combine comfort, elegance and quality. Soriana armchairs are famous for their unique, enveloping style. The innovative design combines a chrome-plated metal structure that wraps around the soft velvet cushion, creating a striking visual effect and an extremely comfortable seating experience. Original high-quality brown velvet upholstery adds a touch of luxury and sophistication. The velvet is in excellent condition with slight signs of wear consistent with age that add character and authenticity to the pieces. Soriana has two casters on the front side, while on the back side it has two large molded plastic feet; one of these is damaged but this does not affect the stability and functionality of the chairs. The "Soriana" series won the Compasso d'Oro award in 1970. Both armchairs are in very good condition. The structure is solid and stable, with no structural defects. The velvet has a slight patina that testifies to the history and authenticity of the armchairs. The seat is wide and cozy, perfect for moments of relaxation. Seat height: 37 cm.
