Item description
This set of four Friso Kramer chairs is in very good condition. The black artificial leather has a light, attractive patina. The ivory-colored fiberglass shells of the chairs are undamaged. The aluminum frames show minimal signs of wear. An absolute classic in 60s design that can be used as an office, conference or dining room chair. More than 100 years ago, the Wilkhahn company was founded by Friedrich Hahne and Christian Wilkening as a chair factory. In 1946, contact was made with the Deutsche Werkstätten and the designers Georg Leowald and Herbert Hirche, who worked in the Bauhaus tradition. Since then, Wilkhahn has been one of the premium manufacturers of office furniture. The Dutch designer Friso Kramer was one of the leading industrial designers in the Netherlands and was friends with the Hahne family. He designed this chair for Wilkhahn in the late 1960s.
