Pino Signoretto (1944 - 2017) was one of the greatest masters of contemporary glass, famous in Italy and abroad, where he has always carried out intense exhibition and teaching activities. Born in 1944 in Favaro Veneto (Venice), in 1959 he began working with some of the greatest Murano glass masters, from Alfredo Barbini to Livio Seguso, Ermanno Nason, and Angelo Seguso. In 1960 he became a master glassmaker. Until 1977 he worked in the furnace and acquired a complete knowledge of working techniques. In 1978 he opened his atelier in Murano. He collaborates with renowned artists and architects, such as Vedova, Licata, Del Pezzo, Vitali, and Pomodoro. In 1989 he travels to Japan and performs a demonstration in the presence of the imperial family. Since 1990 he has been making demonstrations and teaching in many prestigious schools throughout Europe, the United States, Canada and Japan, from the Pilchuck School of Glass Seattle to the Toyama School, from Aomori Otaru to the Rochester Institute of Technology. Since 2001 he has taught at the Academy of Fine Arts in Venice and opened his new furnace in Murano. He collaborates with major glass and design companies and creates important monuments and awards on commission from prestigious cultural institutions. Countless group and solo exhibitions in museums and galleries around the world and intense collaborations with great contemporary artists, from Jeff Koons to Marc Quinn, from Martin Bradley to Sandro Chia. Her activity continues apace today and she is considered one of the most important names in the international artist glass scene.
