Item description

BBPR was the acronym that indicated the group of Italian architects founded in 1932 by Gian Luigi Banfi (1910 - 1945), Lodovico Barbiano di Belgiojoso (1909 - 2004), Enrico Peressutti (1908 - 1976), Ernesto Nathan Rogers (1909 - 1969). The legendary Italian lighting company Artemide was founded in the province of Milan in 1959 by the designer and engineer Ernesto Gismondi, born in Sanremo in 1931, and designer Sergio Mazza, born in Milan in 1931. As is well known, it was the latter who designed Alfa Lamp, the company’s first successful product, a year before the launch of Artemide. In the following decades both founders continue to create new projects for the ever-evolving collections of Artemide, whose goal is to develop distinctive and eye-catching lamps, including pendant and ceiling lamps, in collaboration with the world’s leading design talents. Good conditions with some inevitable signs of age and use, see photo.
