Item description
Pair of Neoclassical style two-light wall lamps in bronze and fabric, 1940s. They are adorned with finely detailed medallions depicting two mythological figures from Greco-Roman culture. One of the figures seems to recall Minerva, known as Athena in Greek mythology. The other could represent Mercury, known as Hermes to the Greeks. These details give the wall lights a unique historical and artistic charm. The arrow shape of the sconces is not only aesthetic but also symbolic, representing guidance, strength and speed. This shape ideally combines the distinctive characteristics of the two deities, creating a perfect combination of elegance and meaning. The tulle lampshades embroidered with gold thread add a touch of sophistication and luxury, perfectly complementing the lamps' vintage aesthetic. However, even without lampshades, the wall lights retain their extraordinary beauty, fully showing the attention to detail in their design. Restored, they have a new electrical system. They are illuminated by two lights with E14 bulbs, they are suitable for dimmable systems.
