This elegant and refined French wall sconce features the classic half-sphere shape typical of the rich and charming Louis XVI style. Cut and ground crystals of various shapes are manually joined by thin iron wires, skilfully distributed and hung from a bronzed brass frame resembling a basket (hence the French name sac-à-perle). The entire structure is covered with wires composed of tiny beads that give the wall sconce a luminous appearance even when it is switched off. The central semicircle is fixed at the back by a bar with two lamp holders, one facing upwards and the other downwards, to ensure an even light distribution. When the wall light is switched on, the ground crystals refract the light in infinite facets, creating enchanting reflections that enhance the decorative effect. This wall lamp was handmade between 1980 and 1983 by a small company on the outskirts of Paris, resulting in a unique, precious and elegant product. The style is a classic French Louis XVI, opulent and refined; the overall aesthetic is luxurious, regal and symmetrical, reflecting the neoclassical influence of the Louis XVI era.
