Carpet Cogolin, France 20th century. Vintage wool knotted by hand in France in the city of Cogolin with brown background color and continuous stylized design, in shades of pink and blue. These rugs were made in small pieces and then joined together. It has two small restorations performed by professionals, as you can see from the photos. Dimensions 388 x 268 cm. Founded in 1928 by Jean Lauer, the Cogolin Manufacture has experienced significant growth since the 1930s. From hand processing to weaving on 19th century Jacquard arm looms, the Cogolin rug is recognizable for its unparalleled elegance in its floral and geometric patterns in relief and for its vibrant range of colors. It occupies a prominent place in French heritage, thanks to the richness of its historical and cultural heritage and the skill of its craftsmen.
