Set of six chairs by Ico and Luisa Parisi for MIM Roma (Mobili Italiani Moderni), 1950s. Crafted from luxurious dark rosewood, they boast a minimalist construction that embodies the essence of mid-century modern aesthetics. Despite their simplicity, the chairs are anything but simple: the design is highlighted by uniquely sculpted legs in the shape of a hexagonal prism and geometrically faceted frame ends that add visual interest to the otherwise streamlined silhouette. Additionally, the ergonomically curved backrests are designed to offer better support and comfort, showcasing Parisi's attention to both form and function. Each chair has been newly upholstered with vibrant cobalt blue leather, a choice that not only enhances comfort and practicality but also offers a striking contrast to the deep, natural tones of rosewood. By harmonizing dark, rich wood with bold blue leather, we wanted to further embody the Parisi's dedication to blending simplicity and elegance. The set is in excellent original condition, there are absolutely minor signs of wear on the wood, confirming its age and provenance. A new upholstery had to be made to restore the chairs to their former beauty and full functionality. The wooden structures have been cleaned and protected with professional products.
