Item description
This round rosewood dining table was designed in 1958 by Ico and Louisa Parisi for MIM (Mobili Italiani Moderni). Known as the Olbia model, this table is a remarkable piece of mid-century modern furniture. Ico Parisi, renowned Italian architect and designer, has often collaborated with his wife Louisa, fusing innovative design with impeccable craftsmanship. The Olbia model reflects their distinctive style, characterized by elegant lines, elegant shapes and a harmonious use of materials. The workmanship of the Olbia table is exemplary. The rosewood used in its construction is appreciated for its rich color and durability. The meticulously crafted surface, highlighted by the star-star rosewood veneer and laid with precision, highlights the natural beauty of wood. The sturdy legs with geometric design, combined with curved wooden structures, create a visually striking and structurally solid base. This combination of warm rosewood and the interestingly shaped base, along with the addition of cool metal feet, adds a touch of modernity to the mid-century table roots. One of the unique aspects of the table is the innovative and practical extension mechanism that exemplifies Parisi’s commitment to creating adaptable and durable designs. The system is integrated into the design in an intelligent way. The table top consists of two halves that come off, revealing a hidden two-part leaf stored inside the structure. The part of the additional sheet can be lifted and with a simple pull, the second part of the sheet extends automatically, effectively transforming the table from a compact round shape to an elongated oval shape. This attention to form and function, combined with the use of high-quality materials, makes the Olbia table a true icon of design. Our team checked the chart. Despite the passage of time, it remains in excellent original condition and the authenticity of its origin is confirmed by the stamp of the manufacturer. The table top has a new lacquer, which will add several more decades of use. A timeless piece that remains current and stylish even decades after its creation. Still fully functional. We have a set of chairs from the same house and offer it as a set as well. Additional dimensions: height from the ground 70 cm, width of the additional leaves 70 cm.
