Item description
Visually appealing and extremely functional, this free-standing teak wall cabinet was designed and manufactured in Norway in the late 1950s and early 1960s. It is characterised by organic lines, quality craftsmanship and minimalist aesthetics. Made of warm-toned teak wood, this freestanding bookcase features a beautiful wood grain pattern on both the exterior and interior of the furniture. The use of high quality teak wood and teak veneer ensures the durability and longevity of the piece. Attention to detail is evident in the well-carved handles and slightly rounded edges, reflecting the craftsmanship of Scandinavian artisans. Minimalist vertical supports and tapered legs add visual interest and give a lighter, airy presence without compromising stability. The unique assembly system uses metal pins hidden in the wooden structure, making the component joints almost invisible. This wall unit features two spacious cabinets with drawers, a display cabinet, a smaller cabinet for storage, five adjustable shelves, and a cabinet with a flap door that can be used as a bar cabinet or secretaire, creating a discreet home office space. This combination of open shelves and closed cabinets offers a versatile mix of display and storage options, ideal for living rooms or offices where aesthetics and organisation are paramount. The set includes: a cabinet with 4 drawers: H: 59.5 / W: 88 / D: 42 cm (drawer height: 6 cm); a cabinet with 2 drawers: H: 59.5 / W: 88 / D: 42 cm (drawer height: 5 cm); a smaller storage cabinet: H: 42 / W: 88 / D: 32 cm; a display cabinet: H: 42 / W: 88 / D: 32 cm; a cabinet with folding doors: H: 42 / W: 88 / D: 32 cm (opening depth: 67 cm); 4 shelves, depth 21 cm; one shelf, depth 33 cm; 4 vertical supports, each 206 cm long. Metal pins for assembly. The bookcase design allows each component to be adjusted to suit your needs, with the flexibility to move shelves and cabinets lower, higher or to interchange them. The layout presented is just one example. Our team checked the bookcase and confirmed that it is in excellent original condition, with minimal signs of use considering its age. We checked that all components fit together perfectly and that all drawers and doors function smoothly. The wood has been cleaned and protected with layers of Danish oil to enhance the natural beauty of the wood grain. A fantastic rare piece in fantastic condition.
