Item description

French Napoleon III coffee table/writing desk in exotic precious woods with gilded bronze fittings. The rectangular top bears a beautiful gilt bronze garniture with a dense floral pattern inlay in the centre. The same top can be extended with the help of the two side flaps bearing the same inlay. The undercounter band incorporates a drawer highlighted by a gilded bronze spout with a rocailles motif. The four feet having a cabriolet shape end with socks, also in bronze. Restored by our master craftsmen using the traditional handmade shellac and alcohol method. Provenance: 19th century France. Measurements closed: 80x58 cm, H 76 cm.
