Item description

Beautiful Louis XVI trumeau in perfect condition, made at the end of the 18th century. Perfect proportions, straight and symmetrical lines. Solid oak frame, complex piece of furniture consisting of three essential parts. Drawers in the lower part, a flap and two doors in the upper part, rare piece of furniture. A small open cupboard is placed behind the two doors. The upper cornice consists of two simple scrolls framing the central plume. The lower part has drawers with a downward trend, in the usual English tradition. The entire piece of furniture is made of briarwood, with a strong visual impact that gives the impression of contrasting the outward appearance with the simplicity of the volumes also defined by a light wood thread that geometrically frames all the elements of the top panel. The internal structure of the cabinet is also complex, in particular the flap becomes a desk thanks to the concealed horizontal supports. The flap protects many drawers and paper holders as well as a secret compartment that corresponds to the front for the central top drawer. The extension in turn holds many drawers and objects. The cabinet is exceptional from an aesthetic point of view but also from a structural point of view, oak was also used for the bottom of the drawers and for the complex structure behind the worktop and riser. The cabinet can be divided into two parts for easy transport and consists of a drawer unit and desk in the lower part and a raised door in the upper part.
