635 Rossa e blu di Rietveld per Cassina, anni '90

Red and Blue by Gerrit Thomas Rietveld is a chair-sculpture with a pure and rational form. An authentic manifesto of the objective approach of Neoplasticism, promoted by the Dutch De Stijl movement in 1917. A poetics also encouraged by Piet Mondrian, whose goal was the search for the essential nature of things, the harmonic equivalence of colors and the exclusive use of the right angle. Rietveld worked on the first prototypes in 1918, expressing the philosophy of organizing space through monochromatic elements. He later applied color differentiation to separate the building parts according to function, going so far as to juxtapose the black structure with the colored supporting parts. This also led to the variation of the work's name from Slat Chair to Red and Blue. Wear consistent with the age and use documented in the images.
